Health-Conscious Eateries Flourish in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram has witnessed a significant shift toward health-conscious dining, with a growing number of eateries offering nutritious and flavorful options. Among these is The Salad Bistro, a cloud kitchen launched by 25-year-old Vrinda Vinod in November 2023. Inspired by personal experiences and a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles, Vrinda's kitchen serves salads, smoothies, and desserts crafted with health in mind.

This trend is not limited to her venture. Outlets like Whealthier, Salad Caffe, and Boiled at Jawahar Nagar have joined the movement, offering diverse choices ranging from oil-free protein platters to sugar-free treats. These establishments cater to a rising demand for healthful foods that do not compromise on taste, appealing to a younger generation increasingly focused on fitness and well-being.

Sreenath Raveendran, co-founder of Boiled, highlights how health concerns have shifted perceptions. "Conditions once seen in older adults are now appearing in people as young as their 30s. The younger generation is visiting gyms not just for bodybuilding but for overall health," he explains.

This growing culture reflects a larger societal change where mindful eating is becoming a priority. By blending health and flavor, these eateries are redefining how the city views food, making healthy choices more accessible and enjoyable.
