Remember the villain in Robot? Yep, that intense scientist who went head-to-head with Rajinikanth- that's Danny Denzongpa. But off-screen, he's brewed up something even cooler.
In 1987, Danny stepped away from the spotlight to launch Yuksom Breweries Limited in his hometown of Yuksom, nestled in South Sikkim.
Born Tsering Phintso in the picturesque town of Yuksom, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into creating what is now India's third-largest beer company.
Starting with a dream to merge Sikkim's cultural essence with world-class brewing, Denzongpa launched the Dansberg brand, later expanding into favorites like He-Man 9000, Denzong 9000, and Himalayan Blue. His beer quickly gained traction, especially in India's Northeast.
In 2005, he scaled up with a new facility in Odisha under Denzong Breweries, and in 2009, made a game-changing move by acquiring Assam's Rhino Agencies, shutting out rival United Breweries from the region.
With over 3 million cases brewed annually and ₹100 crore contributed to the regional economy, Yuksom Breweries is a powerhouse.
Danny's journey from film sets to fermentation tanks shows that with vision and grit, even a Bollywood star can tap into something truly refreshing.
