Apple is facing a lawsuit over false advertising related to Apple Intelligence, the AI-powered features showcased at WWDC 2024. The lawsuit alleges that Apple misled customers by heavily promoting advanced Siri capabilities that are still unavailable.
Initially, Apple Intelligence was expected to launch with the iPhone 16 series and iOS 18.4. However, after missing multiple deadlines, Apple quietly delayed its rollout without stopping the promotional ads. Frustrated customers who purchased new devices expecting AI-powered Siri have now taken legal action.
Filed in the US District Court in San Jose, the lawsuit seeks class-action status and compensation for affected consumers. The plaintiffs argue that Apple created false expectations, leading millions to upgrade unnecessarily. While Apple later admitted the features would be delayed, it had already benefited from months of misleading marketing.
With the lawsuit claiming Apple knowingly advertised non-existent functionality, the tech giant now faces serious legal scrutiny over its failure to deliver on its AI promises.
