A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring seven. The incident occurred when the truck, carrying fireworks and fuel canisters, ignited near the hotel’s entrance. Authorities have identified the deceased driver but have not yet released their name.

The explosion, captured on video, showed flames erupting from the truck, followed by smaller bursts. Despite the proximity to the hotel's glass doors, the vehicle's design minimized structural damage, with most of the blast directed upward.

Authorities are investigating the incident as a potential act of terrorism, particularly in light of a deadly truck attack in New Orleans earlier the same day. However, FBI agents and local law enforcement believe the Las Vegas event to be an isolated occurrence with no confirmed links to the New Orleans rampage.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, clarified that the explosion was caused by external materials in the truck’s bed and was unrelated to the Cybertruck’s design. Musk stated that Tesla's senior team is actively investigating the incident.

President-elect Donald Trump, who owns the hotel, has not issued a statement. However, officials are exploring potential motives due to the hotel’s association with Trump and Musk’s support for his administration.

This incident follows a New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans, where a truck driver, identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, killed 10 people and injured dozens. The FBI considers it an act of terrorism. Investigations into both events are ongoing.
