May 12, 2025, isn't just a date-it's a cosmic milestone. On this Buddha Purnima, spiritual leader Sadhguru shares why this full moon holds deep significance far beyond religious rituals.
Buddha Purnima marks a triple event: Gautama Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and final liberation-Mahasamadhi. But in yogic tradition, it's even more profound. According to Sadhguru, this day coincides with the third full moon after the Earth begins its northern journey around the sun-an energetically powerful phase. It's when spiritual energies are most supportive for inner transformation.
Before his enlightenment, Gautama had nearly starved himself to death. After years of severe asceticism as a Samana-walking endlessly and refusing food-his frail body collapsed while crossing the Niranjana River. Too weak to move, he clung to a dead tree branch midstream. That moment of stillness became a pivot in his spiritual quest, symbolizing surrender without giving up.
For seekers across the globe, Buddha Purnima is not just about paying homage but about tuning into higher dimensions of consciousness. It's a call to rise above suffering-just like the Buddha did.
