Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has stirred controversy with his remarks against India amid the ongoing conflict following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a rally in Karachi, Afridi accused India of targeting civilians, including children and mosques, and praised Pakistan's military for its retaliatory response, calling it "unbreakable."
He criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming India was now facing the consequences of its actions.
India had launched 'Operation Sindoor' in response to the Pahalgam attack, striking multiple terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), as well as targeting air defence and radar systems, particularly in Lahore.
The Indian military provided visual proof of the strikes. In contrast, Pakistan responded with 'Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos'.
Afridi denied Pakistan's involvement in the initial attack and demanded India provide evidence, labeling the Indian army "useless."
Despite a ceasefire brokered by the United States on Saturday, Pakistan reportedly violated the truce within hours with drone strikes in Srinagar and other locations, raising tensions once again between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
