Lights Out Chaos! PBKS vs DC ends in shocking abandonment after Blazing Start

Match 58 of the IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) ended in disappointment as the game was abandoned due to a major technical failure at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

After winning the toss, PBKS chose to bat and started explosively. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put up a stunning 122-run stand in just 10.1 overs. The duo looked unstoppable, with Arya smashing 70 off 34 balls, including 5 fours and 6 sixes.

Prabhsimran Singh continued his red-hot form, scoring an unbeaten 50 off 28 balls. It was his fourth consecutive half-century - a new record for the franchise.

Just when PBKS were dominating, a floodlight failure disrupted the match. One tower shut down due to a technical issue, and within minutes, two more followed. Despite multiple attempts to restore power, conditions became unplayable.

By 9:57 PM, the match was officially abandoned. Both teams were awarded one point each. PBKS will feel unfortunate, having been in total control, while DC miss out on a must-win opportunity.

The BCCI released a statement apologizing to fans, citing a significant technical failure in the area as the cause.

The playoff race tightens, and teams will now have to make every game count as we head into the final leg of the season.
