India Thrashes Brazil and South Korea with 64-34 and 175-18 Wins at Kho Kho World Cup

The Kho Kho World Cup championship has started with India dominating the opening day in New Delhi. The men’s team edged closer to the knockout stages with a 64-34 victory over Brazil, following their 42-37 win over Nepal.

 

The thrilling match at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium saw Brazil make a strong start with 16 points, but India quickly responded with an impressive ‘Dream Run’ and an aggressive second turn, scoring 36 points. Brazil fought back in Turn 3, scoring 34 points, but India regained control in the final turn, with Aditya Ganpule and Pratik Waikar leading the charge to secure a 30-point win.

 

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team made an incredible start, demolishing South Korea 175-18 in their opening match. Chaithra B, Meeru, and skipper Priyanka Ingle set the tone with consecutive ‘Dream Runs,’ and India neutralized South Korea’s 10 touch-points in Turn 1.

 

The Indian trio, along with Nasreen Shaikh and Reshma Rathod, led a relentless attack, securing three ‘ALL OUT’ victories in just 90 seconds. By Turn 2, India had eliminated 16 batches, leading 94-10. The women’s team maintained their dominant performance through Turn 3, finishing with complete control and an overwhelming victory over South Korea.
