India's Richest MLA Owns ₹3,400 Crore – See Who's Next!

BJP's Parag Shah, the MLA from Mumbai's Ghatkopar East, has been named India's richest legislator with assets worth nearly ₹3,400 crore, according to an Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) report. He is followed by Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar, MLA from Kanakapura, who has declared assets exceeding ₹1,413 crore.
The ADR report analyzed self-sworn affidavits of 4,092 MLAs across 28 state assemblies and three Union Territories, excluding 24 MLAs with unreadable affidavits and seven vacant assembly seats.
Among the wealthiest MLAs are:
- KH Puttaswamy Gowda, Independent MLA (Karnataka) – ₹1,267 crore
- N. Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh CM – ₹931 crore
- YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Andhra Pradesh CM – ₹757 crore
At the bottom, BJP MLA Nirmal Kumar Dhara (West Bengal) has declared assets of just ₹1,700. Karnataka MLAs collectively hold ₹14,179 crore in wealth, followed by Maharashtra MLAs with ₹12,424 crore and Andhra Pradesh MLAs with ₹11,323 crore. Andhra Pradesh alone has seven MLAs in the top 20 richest list.
