In a bid to elevate Munnar’s tourism experience, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched a new double-decker bus service, offering a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the hill station’s majestic mountains and lush tea plantations. The launch, led by Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar, introduces four additional buses designed to enhance the charm of Munnar while ensuring a novel, eco-friendly experience for visitors.
The Munnar Royal View double-decker bus boasts a transparent design with glass panels, allowing passengers to enjoy unspoiled vistas of the surrounding landscapes. The upper deck accommodates 38 passengers, while the lower deck has space for 12. The bus will operate on the Munnar-Devikulam route four times daily, providing tourists with a unique and luxurious journey through Kerala’s beloved hill station. Guests can indulge in comfort, enjoying refreshments like snacks, water, drinks, and even charging points.
For just ₹400 for the upper deck and ₹200 for the lower, this exclusive service promises to be a major attraction in the region. The bus comes equipped with a music system, coffee vending machine, and vibrant lighting, further enhancing the experience.
Minister Ganesh Kumar assured that the new service would complement existing tourism amenities, ensuring Munnar’s natural beauty is preserved while offering travelers an unforgettable adventure. This initiative is part of Kerala’s ongoing commitment to sustainable, budget-friendly tourism, making Munnar even more appealing to visitors from around the world.
