Love Your Body, Feed Your Soul: May 6 Is No Diet Day

International No Diet Day, marked every year on May 6, isn't about indulging endlessly-it's about breaking free from toxic diet culture, embracing body diversity, and prioritizing both mental and physical wellness. Started by British feminist Mary Evans Young in 1992, the day began as a response to her battle with anorexia. Today, it's a global movement urging everyone to say no to unrealistic beauty standards and yes to radical self-love.

The essence of this day lies in ditching the guilt that comes with every calorie and embracing a kinder, more holistic view of health. It's not about how you look in the mirror, but how you feel inside. Celebrate by eating mindfully, moving joyfully, and appreciating the body you live in.

Forget fad diets-summer is the season for juicy watermelons, crunchy cucumbers, chilled yoghurt, leafy greens, and refreshing salads. These foods not only keep your body cool and gut happy, but they do it without the shame diet culture loves to serve.

“I don't diet. I eat what I like.” – Lisa Snowdon.
So go ahead-eat the fruit, wear the shorts, and love the skin you're in!
