Amazon has launched a new tamper-proof packaging system designed to protect customers from delivery fraud. The latest packaging features a special tape marked with a pink or red dot. If someone attempts to heat and reseal the package — a common trick used by scammers — the dot changes color, making tampering instantly visible.
This innovation is Amazon’s direct response to growing complaints about customers receiving wrong or swapped products, such as soap bars instead of smartphones. The issue often involves rogue delivery agents who manipulate package seals undetected.
Currently, the tamper-proof tape is being used on pharmaceutical and beauty products. However, Amazon plans to extend this secure packaging method to other product categories soon, especially ahead of its festive season sale.
So, next time you receive an Amazon order, check for that distinctive pink dot — it could be your assurance against tampering and fraud.
