Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose home state is Gujarat, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his profound sorrow over the Air India Flight AI171 crash near Ahmedabad on June 12. In a heartfelt post, he termed the incident "stunning and saddening" , calling it "heartbreaking beyond words". Modi confirmed he was in touch with Union ministers and local authorities to coordinate immediate relief and rescue efforts .

He stressed that his "thoughts are with everyone affected" , as six NDRF teams were deployed to the site and emergency operations reached full throttle . The tweet reinforced central government support, with the Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu personally overseeing state coordination .

Modi's timely message merged compassion with action - emphasizing that while rescue efforts continue, affected families would receive all possible assistance. Amid swirling concerns over Dreamliner safety and aviation protocols, his response sets the political tone as India grapples with one of its worst aviation tragedies in years.
