DocPharma emerged to tackle a serious gap: while groceries and essentials reach Indian homes in minutes, medicines often take days — a delay that can be risky when health is urgent. The startup’s solution is simple but ambitious: build a backend distribution engine that delivers prescribed medicines within half an hour.
Operating across more than a dozen cities, DocPharma partners with e-pharmacies, hospitals, insurers and health-tech platforms, handling all logistics, stock checks, and last-mile delivery. When a user orders through a partner platform, DocPharma’s system routes the request to the nearest pharmacy or dark-store with required stock. In most cases — over 80 percent — the medicines reach the customer within an hour, spanning a catalogue of 100,000+ SKUs.
Rather than replacing local pharmacies, DocPharma bolsters them: many partner stores see 30–40 percent of their sales coming via DocPharma orders, improving their business while expanding access. For insurers and e-health platforms, quick delivery enhances utility and converts more users.
With growing demand, rapid growth in gross merchandise volume, and plans to expand to dozens more cities, DocPharma’s model could well reshape how Indians get their medicines — turning a slow, uncertain process into a fast, reliable service.
