RCB breaks silence, Doubles Aid to families of Bengaluru stampede victims!

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has extended financial support of ₹25 lakh to each family of the 11 fans who tragically lost their lives in the stampede during the IPL victory celebrations outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, 2025. This support forms part of its newly launched social initiative, ‘RCB CARES’.

Marking its first public communication in three months, RCB acknowledged the magnitude of the tragedy with the poignant statement: “The Silence wasn’t Absence. It was Grief.” Previously, in the immediate aftermath, RCB had pledged ₹10 lakh per bereaved family. The latest announcement nearly doubles that commitment.

The tragedy occurred as RCB celebrated its first-ever IPL title; however, poorly managed surge of nearly 2–3 lakh fans, exceeding the stadium’s limited capacity, triggered a deadly stampede that claimed 11 lives and injured over 50.

‘RCB CARES’ seeks to be more than immediate relief—it pledges ongoing care, compassion, and community unity, promising long-term meaningful action to honor the victims’ memories.
