According to the chargesheet filed by Bandra Police, the accused, Mohammed Shariful Fakir Islam, misled his housekeeping agency supervisor, Amit Pandey, to evade suspicion following the incident.
Shariful, who had been employed under the alias "Vijay Das" through Shri Om Facility Services, failed to report to work for several days after the attack. When Pandey inquired about his absence, Shariful claimed he had been involved in an altercation with a police officer on a local train, resulting in his detention for two days. He provided vague details, stating he was unfamiliar with Mumbai and would explain further in person.
Pandey's statement, now part of the official chargesheet, indicates that Shariful had been assigned to various establishments across Mumbai, including hotels and pubs in areas like Worli, Prabhadevi, Thane, Bandra, and Chembur. Notably, Shariful secured a housekeeping position at Rose House Blue Hotel in Bandra on January 9, 2025, but ceased attending work by January 13.
The chargesheet also reveals that Shariful initially approached Pandey in July 2024 without proper identification, promising to provide necessary documents later—a promise he never fulfilled. This lack of documentation and use of a false identity facilitated his employment and subsequent access to high-profile areas.
The investigation continues as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the attack and Shariful's activities leading up to it.
