Mumbai Police has filed an FIR against actor Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others associated with the Ullu app's web show House Arrest for allegedly promoting obscene content. The complaint, lodged by Bajrang Dal activist Gautam Ravriya, claims that the show features explicit scenes and coercive acts that outrage the modesty of women. Circulating video clips show Khan allegedly forcing contestants, including women, into intimate positions and posing uncomfortable questions. Charges have been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Ajaz Khan and Ullu CEO Vibhu Agarwal for questioning. Maharashtra BJP MLC Chitra Wagh has called for an immediate ban on House Arrest, terming it vulgar and harmful, particularly for children. The controversy has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with users demanding stricter action against such platforms.
