Actor Huma Qureshi, known for powerful roles in Maharani and Tarla, recently opened up about a disturbing phone call she received from a casting director. Speaking at the India Today Indo-UAE Conclave during a session titled The Maharani of Reinvention, Huma revealed she was advised against playing mature characters, as it would "age her on screen."

Stunned by the suggestion, Huma asked, “Why does the burden of looking younger always fall on women?” She questioned why taking on layered, meaningful roles should be avoided in favor of cosmetic youth. The actor emphasized choosing scripts that empower her rather than waiting for superficial parts.
