Siddhivinayak Temple Implements Dress Code from February 2nd

From 2nd of February, the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai will enforce a dress code that prohibits revealing clothes. Temple authorities have requested visitors to wear decent, body-covering attire, preferably traditional Indian clothing.

This decision follows multiple complaints from devotees about inappropriate outfits causing discomfort to others.

The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust (SSGTT) announced that visitors wearing torn fabric, short skirts, or clothing that exposes body parts will not be allowed inside. The measure aims to preserve the temple's sanctity and create a comfortable environment for all worshippers.

The Trust explained that the dress code is being implemented to maintain decorum and respect within the temple.

A similar ban was also introduced last year in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where authorities prohibited half-pants, mini skirts, torn jeans, and bermuda shorts in the Radharani Temple. The Shri Banke Bihari Temple had also placed similar banners urging visitors to wear traditional attire only.
