U.S. President Donald Trump intensified his hardline Iran policy amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. On June 27, 2025, Trump declared he would “without question” launch another military strike against Iran if intelligence reveals renewed uranium enrichment—following recent strikes that destroyed three nuclear facilities at Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow. He emphasized that Iran must not regain its nuclear capability and backing the deployment of international inspectors to confirm the extent of damage.
Trump’s statements came as the U.S. Senate narrowly voted 53–47 to reject a resolution requiring congressional approval for military action, reinforcing executive authority in such decisions. He also dropped the possibility of easing sanctions on Iran, stating that relief would be off the table unless Tehran demonstrably halted its nuclear program.
