What is PM SVANidhi 2.0?

PM SVANidhi 2.0 is the revitalized version of the Prime Minister’s Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi scheme, designed to deepen the financial inclusion and empowerment of India’s street vendors. Approved by the Union Cabinet, it extends the scheme’s reach until March 2030 with a substantial ₹7,332 crore outlay targeting 1.15 crore vendors, including 50 lakh new beneficiaries.

The upgraded structure brings a major boost in support: the first loan has been raised to ₹15,000, the second to ₹25,000, and the third remains ₹50,000, all collateral-free and backed by a 7% interest subsidy for timely repayment. Crucially, it introduces UPI-linked RuPay credit cards (₹30,000 limit) for vendors who successfully repay their second loan strengthening financial flexibility and access.

Digital adoption gets a push with cashback incentives up to ₹1,600 on applicable digital transactions. Beyond finance, the scheme empowers through training in entrepreneurship, digital skills, and food safety, and links vendors to welfare schemes via SVANidhi se Samriddhi and periodic Lok Kalyan Melas.
