According to dietician Kanikka Malhotra, consuming curd after lunch can significantly impact gut health. Its probiotics, including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, enhance digestion, improve gut flora, and suppress harmful bacteria. Additionally, curd strengthens the gut barrier, reduces inflammation, and promotes short-chain fatty acid production, which benefits colon health.

 

Regular consumption may also aid in better nutrient absorption, reduce bloating, and lower the risk of inflammatory bowel conditions. However, individual responses vary based on gut microbiota and dietary habits. Malhotra suggests pairing curd with fiber-rich meals for maximum benefits through prebiotic-probiotic synergy.

 

While curd can be a digestive powerhouse, those with lactose intolerance or sensitivity may experience bloating or discomfort. The key is moderation and understanding your body's response. So, should you continue eating curd daily? It depends on how your body reacts!
