
A 17-year-old boy named Aryan, a resident of Jahangirpuri, was critically injured after being shot near a foot overbridge in Azadpur, northwest Delhi, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. According to police officials, three unidentified men allegedly opened fire at Aryan before fleeing the scene.
The teenager sustained two gunshot wounds and was immediately rushed to the trauma centre at Civil Lines, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be serious but stable.
Preliminary investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the attack, which remains unclear. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act.
A manhunt has been launched to trace the three absconding suspects, and teams have been deployed in nearby localities. The incident has sparked concerns over public safety in the area, with locals demanding increased patrolling near the footbridge.
Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying the accused.
