A significant rise in H3N2 virus cases has been reported in Delhi NCR, affecting nearly 69% of families. H3N2, part of the Influenza A family, has caused fever, sore throat, and runny nose among many residents. Dr. Manjusha Agarwal, senior consultant at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, confirms that flu-like symptoms are increasing rapidly in the region.
The virus is not limited to Delhi NCR; several other states are reporting similar flu-like illnesses. Health experts advise families to take precautions such as wearing masks, maintaining hygiene, and avoiding crowded places. It is crucial to follow doctors’ guidance rather than self-medicating.
While most H3N2 cases are mild, vulnerable groups like children, elderly, and immunocompromised individuals should be extra cautious. Hospitals and clinics are monitoring patients carefully to prevent complications and ensure timely treatment.
Public awareness and preventive measures are essential to curb the spread. Experts emphasize vaccination against influenza, proper rest, hydration, and consulting healthcare professionals at the first sign of symptoms.
As H3N2 spreads rapidly, families are urged to stay informed, practice good hygiene, and seek medical advice promptly to protect themselves and prevent further transmission.
