Four decades after Rakesh Sharma's iconic response to Indira Gandhi, Indian-origin NASA astronaut Sunita Williams was asked how India looked from space. Her reply? “India is amazing, just amazing.”
Williams, who recently returned after 286 days aboard the ISS, described the Himalayas as breathtaking and India's night view as a mesmerizing “network of lights.”
When asked about visiting India and assisting ISRO's spaceflight program, Williams eagerly responded, “Absolutely.” She expressed her desire to share her experiences and contribute to India's growing space ambitions.
Williams and her NASA Crew-9 teammates splashed down safely on March 18, undergoing therapy to readjust to Earth's gravity. Meanwhile, her words have sparked excitement about a possible India visit and future collaborations with ISRO.
