India is witnessing a fresh rise in COVID-19 cases, with active infections crossing the 1,000 mark for the first time this year. As per the Health Ministry’s latest data, there are 1,009 active cases in the country, with 752 reported recently - indicating a rapid spread.
Kerala is the worst-hit with 430 cases, followed by Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), and Karnataka (47). Delhi alone has crossed 100 new cases, raising alarm in urban centers.
Despite the spike, some states like Assam, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir have reported zero active cases. However, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Karnataka have also reported 7 deaths combined.
The Health Ministry has advised the public to remain cautious, especially in crowded areas. People are urged to wear masks, avoid gatherings, and get tested when symptoms appear.
Vaccination and monitoring will be intensified, especially with the festive season approaching. Authorities emphasize that vigilance is key to preventing another outbreak.
