A fierce monsoon surge is sweeping across India sending Telangana, Delhi-NCR, and Uttarakhand scrambling under warning alerts. In Telangana, over the past 48 hours, torrential downpour has inundated roads, filled reservoirs, and stranded communities. Mancherial’s Beemini recorded a staggering 238 mm in just one day; emergency teams remain on high alert as rain continues to lash the region.
In Delhi-NCR, the IMD has escalated the situation to a red alert. Urban flooding is rampant, traffic snarls during commutes, and flight operations are severely impacted. The Yamuna River has risen dangerously close to the warning threshold, heightening evacuation concerns.
Up north, Uttarakhand is under a red alert too relentless downpours threaten landslides and flooding across hill districts like Dehradun. Several schools have been shut down as safety teams mobilize to buffer the impact.
