At a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) gathering, chief Praveen Togadia passionately declared, "India was always a Hindu Rashtra," asserting that the nation's identity and spirit are deeply rooted in Hindu traditions . He emphasized, however, that today's vision of a Hindu Rashtra must ensure equitable access to essential services - "food, education, healthcare available to everyone," regardless of background.
Togadia's address reinforced longstanding VHP ideology asserting India's Hindu identity, echoing past calls for constitutional recognition of such a status . Stirring further discourse, he outlined a vision focused on social welfare under the umbrella of Hindu nationalism - noting that beyond safeguarding culture, the goal is to deliver universal development and security to all citizens.
Highlighting the dual themes of identity and inclusivity, Togadia insisted the VHP's mission includes removing caste barriers and bolstering social services -tying material progress to spiritual unity . His speech reflects a shift toward welfare-centric Hindutva: culturally rooted yet service-driven, he argued, for nation-building.
