India has asked Turkey to push Pakistan to dismantle its decades old terror infrastructure and end its support to cross border terrorism. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated on Thursday that India expects Turkey to take a clear stance by urging Pakistan to take credible and verifiable action against terrorist elements operating from its soil.
Jaiswal emphasized that international relations must be rooted in mutual sensitivities. The statement comes amid ongoing tensions between India and Turkey, exacerbated by Turkish criticism of India’s counterterrorism strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Ankara’s growing defence ties with Islamabad.
Regarding the recent revocation of Celebi Aviation’s security clearance, Jaiswal confirmed discussions have taken place with the Turkish Embassy but added the decision came from civil aviation authorities.
The MEA also reiterated India's strong message to China about terrorism during National Security Advisor Ajit Doval’s recent call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
