Kashish Chaudhary, a 25-year-old from Noshki in Balochistan's Chagai district, has become the first Hindu woman to be appointed Assistant Commissioner in Balochistan after passing the Balochistan Public Service Commission exam.
This milestone is not only a personal achievement but also a powerful symbol of progress for minorities and women in Pakistan. Her father, Girdhari Lal, expressed pride in her dedication and dream to uplift women.
Kashish met Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, who praised her as a source of pride for the nation. Her success highlights a broader shift, with more Hindu women across Pakistan entering public service.
Notable figures include Manesh Ropeta, the first Hindu woman Superintendent of Police in Karachi, and Pushpa Kumari Kohli, a sub-inspector from a scheduled caste.
Suman Pawan Bodani also made history as a civil judge. Despite continuing challenges, including forced conversions in Sindh, leaders like Ramesh Kumar Vankwani advocate for education as a way forward.
Kashish's journey marks a significant step in breaking barriers and inspires others from marginalized communities to strive for public service roles.
