The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced a 24-hour water supply disruption in parts of central and South Delhi starting from 5 PM on May 22 to 5 PM on May 23.
This is due to ongoing desilting and drain remodelling work near the WHO building, a waterlogging-prone area during monsoons. The repair involves raising a 900 mm main pipeline obstructing drain number 12A.
Affected areas include Rajghat, Wazirabad, Signature Bridge, LNJP Hospital, WHO, Indraprastha Estate, Bhairon Marg, Delhi Zoo, Greater Kailash, and nearby regions. The DJB has urged residents to store water in advance and use it judiciously during this period.
To minimize inconvenience, the DJB will provide water tankers on demand. Residents can request assistance by calling the DJB helpline at 1916.
Citizens are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions to manage the temporary disruption smoothly.
