Pakistan rebuilds Nur Khan airbase months after India's Operation Sindoor!

Nearly four months after India’s precision missile strike on the strategic Nur Khan Airbase - part of Operation Sindoor—Pakistan has begun reconstruction efforts at the damaged site, according to fresh satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies analyzed by India Today and other outlets.

Located in Chaklala, Rawalpindi, the Nur Khan base holds strategic importance for the Pakistan Air Force’s VIP and logistics operations, including the No. 12 VIP Squadron - known as the Burraqs - responsible for transporting senior leadership.

The May 10 strikes targeted two specialized military trucks - believed to be command-and-control units - causing extensive secondary damage and leading to demolition of adjacent buildings. Satellite visuals now reveal new wall sections matching the original layout, signaling active rebuilding to restore operational capacity.

Tracing the damage back to Operation Sindoor, earlier satellite imagery captured craters, destroyed hangars, and infrastructure losses across multiple Pakistani airbases, including Nur Khan. The strikes were part of India’s strategic response to cross-border terrorism.

As reconstruction proceeds quietly on the ground, the site’s revival marks Pakistan’s effort to restore both functionality and symbolism after one of the most impactful blows to its air mobility infrastructure.
