Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit the United States in February. US President Donald Trump made the announcement as he was heading from Florida to Washington after spending a couple of days over the weekend. Talking to the press on Air Force One, the president said he had discussed plans to invite Modi to the White House next month during an extensive conversation with the latter earlier that day. "We have fantastic relations with India," Trump said.

This would be PM Modi's first visit to the US during Trump's second term. President Trump mentioned that the topics discussed between both leaders included issues of trade, energy, and defense. Both reaffirmed their intentions to further fortify the partnership between India and the US.

The friendship between President Trump and PM Modi has been a subject of discussion for a long time. Their chemistry was evident on global platforms, especially during the "Howdy Modi" rally in Houston in 2019 and the "Namaste Trump" rally in Ahmedabad in 2020.

On social media, Modi greeted Trump on his second term in office and asserted his commitment to strengthening the relationship between the two countries. "We are committed to a mutually beneficial and reliable partnership. We will work together for global peace, prosperity, and security," he said.
