Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the Bhuj airbase in Gujarat on Friday, following a visit to army personnel in Srinagar.
This trip comes amid heightened tensions with Pakistan after a recent four-day military conflict during which Gujarat, with its 508-kilometre border with Pakistan, was targeted by drone attacks.
Bhuj airbase reportedly faced drone threats, which were effectively neutralised by Indian forces. Singh's visit aims to assess the armed forces' operational readiness in the region.
During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, Singh strongly criticised Pakistan’s handling of its nuclear arsenal, questioning its safety and calling for international oversight.
Speaking at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, he urged the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to monitor Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, labeling the country as "irresponsible and rogue."
Referring to a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Singh highlighted that terrorists targeted civilians based on religion, while India’s military response was based on the actions of the perpetrators.
His visit to J&K was the first since Operation Sindoor, during which he reviewed the security situation along the LoC and the International Border.
