As temperatures soar, heat stroke becomes a serious concern. Dr. Narendra K Shetty, Chief Wellness Officer at Kshemavana Naturopathy and Yoga Centre, shares natural ways to stay cool.
Hydration is key - drink 3-4 litres of water daily, or try infused water and electrolyte-rich drinks like lemon water with jaggery or coconut water.
Herbal remedies like coriander seed infusion, aloe vera, amla juice, and mint-tulsi tea help reduce internal heat. Include cooling foods like watermelon, cucumber, onion, and buttermilk while avoiding oily and fermented items.
Wear loose, light-colored cotton clothes and stay indoors between 12 PM and 4 PM.
Practising yogic techniques like Shitali, Sheetkari, and Nadishodhana pranayama can cool the body naturally. In case of symptoms like dizziness or weakness, give cold packs, ORS, and rest in a shaded area. With the right naturopathic routine, heat stroke can be easily prevented.
