The bungalow at 6 Flagstaff Road had been at the center of a political storm due to allegations of extravagant renovations. A CPWD report in October 2024 revealed luxury additions, leading the Centre to launch a probe into alleged irregularities.

Gupta emphasized her commitment to fulfilling all promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that women's rights will be a key focus of her tenure. Meanwhile, speculation over BJP leader Parvesh Verma being a contender for the CM position was dismissed, with Gupta assuring that the party stands united.
