WhatsApp users across India were left frustrated on Saturday evening as the Meta-owned platform faced a sudden outage.
According to DownDetector, over 590 complaints poured in by 5:22 pm, with a majority reporting issues sending messages and uploading statuses.
While 85% struggled with messaging, 12% faced app crashes, and 3% had login trouble.
Some even blamed recent software updates like iOS 18.4 for the glitch. Notably, no official statement was released by WhatsApp, further fuelling the online chatter.
The outage also came alongside UPI transaction failures across PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm, adding to digital chaos. With over 530 million Indian users, the platform's hiccup triggered widespread disruption. Was this just a tech blip - or a bigger issue at Meta? Stay tuned.
