On April 15, 2025, students from Delhi University marked World Art Day by transforming city spaces into vibrant canvases, blending artistic expression with sustainability. Participants from Daulat Ram College, Lady Irwin College, and Sri Venkateswara College showcased their creativity through murals and eco-conscious artworks.

The Fine Arts Society of Daulat Ram College, Spectra, collaborated with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to paint murals depicting iconic monuments along Rani Jhansi Road. Aanya Singh, a final-year BA (Hons) Economics student, shared, “Juggling assignments and deadlines, we still showed up because how often do you get to paint the city that you live and breathe in?”

At Lady Irwin College, the fine arts society Tulika hosted "The Leaf Palette," an art contest encouraging students to use semi-dried leaves as canvases. Ananya Singh, president of Tulika and a final-year BSc (Hons) Food Technology student, explained, “This event let us promote the eco-friendly vibe of our campus in our art. Each hand-painted leaf tells a story of Nature, colour, and creativity. With acrylic paints preserving the designs, these aren't just fleeting creations but little time capsules of artistry.”

Sri Venkateswara College's Fine Arts Society, Leonci, contributed with a large abstract mural on their campus. Siddhant Singh, a final-year BSc student, noted, “For us, art is a language of emotion and identity. Creating something together transforms individual brushstrokes into a shared vision. From brainstorming over chai to painting late into the evenings, our mural stands as a testament to our collective expression.”
