The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has canceled the remaining Higher Secondary (HS) First Year 2025 exams due to a major question paper leak. Initially, the Mathematics exam scheduled for March 21 was postponed after reports of a breach surfaced.
However, further investigations revealed that sealed question paper packets were opened early by certain institutions, raising concerns of potential leaks in other subjects. As a result, the board decided to cancel all exams scheduled from March 24 to March 29 to maintain examination integrity.
In an official statement, ASSEB’s Controller of Examinations, Ranjan Kumar Das, confirmed that the decision was made to prevent further malpractice.
The board has scheduled a crucial meeting on March 24 to discuss the issue and decide on further actions. Institutions involved in the breach are likely to face strict action, and new examination dates may be announced following the review.
