India has condemned Pakistan's preparations for a ballistic missile test amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Indian officials described the move as a “reckless act of provocation” and a “dangerous escalation” designed to inflame hostilities. Alongside the missile test, Pakistan has ramped up naval exercises in the Arabian Sea and intensified ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), with 15 breaches recorded in early 2025 alone. The situation worsened after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, sealed the Attari border crossing, and authorized its armed forces complete operational freedom to retaliate.
Pakistan, denying involvement in the Pahalgam attack, has closed its airspace to Indian flights and halted trade ties. Both nations now stand on the brink of their most serious standoff since the 2021 ceasefire revival. With simultaneous military posturing and diplomatic collapse, the region teeters dangerously close to open conflict once again.
