In today's fast-paced life, many people turn to vitamin, protein, and other supplements to meet their nutritional needs. But consuming supplements without consulting a doctor can harm your kidneys and other internal organs.
Excess vitamin C (over 2000 mg/day) can lead to oxalate crystal formation, increasing the risk of kidney stones. Similarly, taking vitamin D or creatine supplements unnecessarily can cause serious kidney damage, especially in people with underlying conditions.
Herbal supplements, like Aristolochia used for weight loss, may seem natural but can have long-term adverse effects on kidney health. Protein supplements, if taken excessively, put pressure on the kidneys by increasing nitrogen waste.
Instead of relying on supplements, include natural sources like fruits, leafy greens, berries, nuts, and vegetables in your diet. Always consult a doctor before starting any supplement, especially if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of kidney disease.
Protect your kidneys - choose natural and stay hydrated!
