WhatsApp is testing a new logout feature in its latest beta version, offering users the option to log out without losing chats or preferences. This long-awaited update allows for a more flexible user experience, especially for those taking digital breaks or switching between devices like iPads.
According to Android Authority, two logout options will be introduced:
-
Logout and delete data/preferences – Clears everything, like deleting the account.
-
Logout and retain data/preferences – Saves chats, groups, and media, allowing easy return later.
This feature aligns WhatsApp with other Meta-owned platforms like Facebook and is expected to roll out to public beta testers soon.
Additionally, WhatsApp is working on a new media hub for its web version, making it easier to access and manage shared content. Together, these features aim to boost user control, privacy, and convenience, enhancing WhatsApp's overall functionality.
