The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of an impending heat wave across Northwest India and Gujarat starting April 15, alongside widespread rainfall and thunderstorms in parts of Central and Eastern India. Delhi-NCR is expected to witness rising temperatures, with highs reaching up to 41°C by April 15–18. West Rajasthan faces severe heat wave conditions from April 16–18, while states like Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu are also on alert.

Meanwhile, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is forecast over Northeast India, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Heavy rainfall is likely in Assam, Meghalaya, and Odisha from April 14–16. South Indian states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, will experience light to moderate showers over the next five days.

The dual threat of extreme heat and volatile weather has prompted authorities to issue advisories and urge caution across affected regions.
