In a stunning revelation, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that India’s BrahMos missile strikes on the night of May 9-10 disrupted a planned Pakistani military offensive. Speaking at a summit in Azerbaijan, Sharif admitted that Pakistan had mobilised its forces to strike India early on May 10 but was forced to abort the mission after Indian missiles hit multiple key targets, including the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi.
He revealed that India launched a preemptive strike as part of Operation Sindoor, a retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack. The Indian operation reportedly destroyed nine terrorist camps and hit eight airbases in Pakistan and PoK, using precision weapons and BrahMos missiles.
Despite the setback, Pakistan promoted General Asim Munir to Field Marshal for leading a counter-operation named Operation Bunyan um Marsoos. Sharif has since called for talks with India, but New Delhi remains resolute: no talks under the shadow of terrorism.
