Australia and India unite to redefine Global Education!

Australia and India are strengthening their educational partnership through a series of landmark announcements and initiatives. At the Australian-India Education & Skills Council (AIESC) meeting, along with the Australian International Education Conference, Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met his Australian counterpart Jason Clare to deepen collaboration in research, skills training, early childhood education, and school twinning programs.

A major development is the establishment of branch campuses by Australian universities such as Deakin and Wollongong in India—marking the first of their kind. Pradhan also praised India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a framework to evolve its education system with digital literacy, interdisciplinary studies, soft skills, and critical thinking at the core.

Both ministers emphasized that education is more than student mobility - it is about mutual research, innovation, and preparing people for the future. Australia’s education strategy for India reflects this: deeper institutional partnerships, improved skill frameworks, enhanced mobility, and opportunities for Australian institutions to bring their expertise into India.
