Can global internet outrage happen today?

The Simpsons has long been known for its uncanny ability to predict the future- Donald Trump's presidency, a global pandemic, and more. But now, a viral video is making a bold claim: on January 16, 2025, the world will face a catastrophic internet blackout. Why? Apparently, sharks are going to chew through undersea cables, causing chaos across the globe. Phones won't work. Computers will crash. Credit card payments? Forget it.
In a comedic twist, the only person unaffected is none other than Bart Simpson, who's blissfully immune because he doesn't have to do his homework. Naturally, the internet went wild. Some people joked about the return of the 80s when dial-up internet and no screens ruled, while others had a more techy meltdown: "Do you even know how the internet works?" they quipped.
So, is this an apocalyptic prophecy or just another wacky Simpsons creation? Well, spoiler alert: it's fake. The entire video, pieced together with AI magic and some over-the-top creativity, has no basis in the actual show.
Sure, sharks sometimes nibble on cables, but the idea of a "mega shark" causing a worldwide internet outage is highly unlikely. In fact, tech companies have already armored undersea cables like they're made of Kevlar. So, unless you're expecting a giant, internet-hungry shark, your Wi-Fi is safe.
Looks like we'll be streaming your favorite shows without interruption, at least for now!
