CSK collapse again—DC’s 3rd straight win sparks title talk!

Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs in a one-sided IPL 2025 encounter at Chepauk. Chasing 184, CSK faltered early, with key batters including captain Ruturaj Gaikwad falling cheaply. The hosts were reduced to 74/5 by the 11th over, prompting MS Dhoni to walk in and join Vijay Shankar.

From there, CSK didn’t lose another wicket, but their run rate never really threatened the target. The pair stitched together a steady but slow 84-run partnership off 57 balls. Shankar remained unbeaten on 69 off 54 deliveries, while Dhoni scored 30 off 26 balls, including a solitary six that sent the crowd into a frenzy. However, their cautious approach and DC’s disciplined bowling ensured the required run rate kept climbing, eventually becoming insurmountable. CSK ended their innings at 158/5.

Delhi’s bowling unit impressed across the board, with consistent lengths and tight fielding, barring a few dropped chances off Shankar. Earlier, Delhi had posted 183/6, powered by Rahul’s composed fifty and useful cameos throughout the order. Despite a few middle-over hiccups, the Capitals finished strong.

This win marked DC’s third consecutive victory of the season and underlined their sharp form. Meanwhile, CSK’s batting woes continued, especially in the powerplay. Fans also witnessed a rare emotional moment, with MS Dhoni’s parents attending their first-ever live match at Chepauk, watching alongside granddaughter Ziva—a sweet moment on an otherwise tough day for the Yellow Army.
