18 Years Later, He's Still Here: Virat Kohli Creates History in IPL 2025!

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) celebrates its 18th anniversary, one name continues to echo through the league's legacy, Virat Kohli.

The former India captain and RCB icon will be the only player from the historic 2008 opener to feature in the RCB vs PBKS clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Kohli's IPL journey began as a fiery 19-year-old on April 18, 2008, facing KKR in a match that kickstarted the IPL era. While Brendon McCullum stole the show that night, Kohli quietly began building a legacy that would outlast them all.

Eighteen seasons later, Kohli stands tall with 8,252 IPL runs and unmatched loyalty to a single franchise, RCB. His record-breaking 973-run season in 2016 remains untouched, and his passion remains undiminished.

In a league known for change, Kohli is the constant - a symbol of evolution, excellence, and endurance. As fans tune in for the 2025 clash, they won't just be watching a game; they'll be witnessing the last standing pillar of IPL's origin story in action.
