Former BJP MP Dilip Ghosh has landed in controversy after a video surfaced of him threatening women during a road inauguration in West Bengal's Kharagpur. Confronted by local women over his absence during his tenure as an MP, Ghosh lost his temper, allegedly saying, "Don’t scream like that, I’ll choke you!"

The altercation escalated when the women accused him of taking credit for the newly constructed road, built under the TMC-led municipality. Ghosh retorted, claiming he had funded the project and accused the protesters of being "500-rupee workers" of Mamata Banerjee's party.

The incident drew sharp criticism from TMC leader Pradip Sarkar, who condemned Ghosh's remarks as disrespectful and demanded an apology. However, Ghosh defended his actions, calling the protest politically motivated.
