External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar firmly stated that India and Pakistan were “very far away” from nuclear conflict during recent military exchanges. In a powerful interview during his Germany visit, Jaishankar explained that India’s Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, specifically targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in a measured and non-escalatory manner.
He slammed the narrative that every India Pakistan clash risks nuclear escalation, warning that it only fuels terrorism supported by Pakistan’s military and state. Highlighting Pakistan's open support for terror groups, Jaishankar said the UN terror list is filled with Pakistani names and locations.
The firing stopped at Pakistan’s request, he confirmed, crediting India’s military response for compelling a ceasefire. He also noted that China's involvement is evident through Pakistan’s weaponry. On global affairs, Jaishankar emphasized that India’s threats come from terrorism, Pakistan, and China, not Ukraine.
